Orange Shirt Day September 30, 2019

posted 12 Sep 2019, 11:01 by David McOuat

Orange Shirt Day grew out of the story of Phyllis Webstad, Stswecem’c Xgat’tem First Nation (Canoe Creek Indian Band) who had her shiny new orange shirt taken away on her first day of residential school in 1973. This day is an opportunity to set the stage for anti-racism and anti-bullying education
